So, the idea is to try out this new flexible workspaces.
I did not think this was a good idea at the beginning, but then I spoke to a tutor and he did explain it in another way that I decided to give this concept a go.
I think what I like about this idea, is that I have the freedom to work in placed I would normaly not dare to. But I am also tired of my own studio at the academy.
We have a shared space in the basement.
I like the idea that it is shared, but we are in the basement. No windows, no fresh air and it is very dusty, you can accually see dus fall down on our heads.
Last week I reserved a space.
Today is my first day in a flexible workspace.
This morning I already hated the idea. I got here and went to ask for the key, but the space is just open. I don't feel secure. I was planning to leave my jacket here so I could meet the teacher I had an appointment with. So, it is open for everyone to take my stuff.
Good thing was, that there is a computer. That is the reason why I decided to write this on the blog.
Bad thing: I need to pee and cannot leave my stuff here, so it is awkward now.
Good thing: I am extremely productive!
I have some music to keep the high spirit, I am working on my project and communicating with a classmate to continue our project.
Bad thing: I am still in a basement with other people's noise on the background.
Good thing: there is a door, so I can still enjoy my music without damaging my ears even more.
Sofar I think I will give it a go for a few days.
I do notice I banished one of my initial idea's: in the studio I prepared a bag with materials to bring here while I am working. It contains paint, paper, pens. But this morning I didn't feel like it was nessecary to pick up.
I am siting here with a computer, a book I brought from home (with I am getting inspired by), dummy and one pen.
This is all I need to have studio time. Possibly the computer replaced the usual materials, since now I am working on words and not on images.
Until next time!
